Looking to make the smashing pumpkin extract kit in the coming weeks. Any thoughts on additional spices to use? I was considering maybe some brown sugar during the boil, or maybe adding some pumpkin pie mix to the carboy during secondary fermentation. Any thoughts? Thanks!

    Starter Yeast

Brand new home brewer. Looking to make my second batch the smashing pumpkin ale extraxt kit from northern brewer. What's everyone's thoughts on using starter Yeast? Seems like a regular thing to do for most , but needed some guidance if it was necessary/recommended for a pumpkin ale. Thanks!
