    new bew pot problem

I've been making beer for a long time and decided to upgrade some of my equipment. I purchased a Kegco 10 gallon brew pot. the problem is that the stem for the thermometer extends too far into the pot and my wort chiller won't clear it. Any quick fix for this?

    pasteurize?

Thanks for the input. Charley Papazian recommend in his book "joy of home brewing" to boil the honey with a gallon of water for 15 minutes. Seemed like a waste of time to me so I thought I'd get other opinions. I've made braggot which the honey is added at the end of the boil. Mainly to keep the...

    Floor burner safe indoors?

Thanks for the info guys. I fixed the problem by utilizing a small porch area that only 10 feet from my brew room. I got this burner and a stainless steel conical fermenter in trade for some painting work for the guy that owns my local brew supply shop. Time to get serious about this hobby.

I have a good size room that I have turned into a brewing room, seems like a good idea to me. Oh, and does anyone know exactly how much...

I recently switched from one step to starsan. It seems to produce a lot of suds when sanitizing bottles. should I rinse after sanitizing or will the residual suds affect anything?

    What to brew.....kinda pot luck

Thanks guys. I had wondered if all the grains are mixed equally enough to do a few small batches as I do not have the capacity to do all grain mashes, hmm, maybe I should have thought of that before the temptation of a giant bag of grain got the best of me. :drunk:
