Leaking pressure barrel. And length before drinkable.

Thanks ever so much for the help. It is definitely ready. Tastes great! Glad as its my first one too. Yea I was just a bit concerned about the dripping. It's not loads though. I'm sure it'll calm down after we've had a few pints. I hope. ;)

Leaking pressure barrel. And length before drinkable.

This is what I have. And the leak seems to be getting worse! :S No idea on how much pressure is in it. Kinda concerned it's going to blow! Haha! http://www.lakeland.co.uk/52210/Beer-Makers-Deluxe-Equipment-Box

Leaking pressure barrel. And length before drinkable.

First off: A little bit of info. I have a Woodfords Sundew kit on brew. My fermentation in the bucket was compleate after 1 week. I then transferred it to my pressure barrel and added the sugar to carbonate the beer. It's now been in the pressure barrel for 1 and a half weeks. So, I...

How long to leave in barrel before it's ready.

Awesome, thank you! Yea, I need to get hold of a C02 pump for later. I may give it a taste in 2 weeks, then at 3 weeks start drinking if it's all good! :)

How long to leave in barrel before it's ready.

Thank you! I am using a Woodfords Sundew kit. There is a fair amount to space in the barrel for gas to pressurise it. I guess it says to wait 2 weeks or so for the yeast to do its finishing touches, for the gas to build up, and to help with the beers flavour.

How long to leave in barrel before it's ready.

The fermentation in the bucket is now complete and I have now transferred it to a pressure barrel, added the sugar like my kit told me to, and it's all done. How long until it's ready to be tried, and completely ready to drink? The kit says two weeks, but I'm just after recommendations etc...

    Fermentation and the looked it.

Didn't know the temperature effects the reading. Mines at 18-20 degrees C.

    Fermentation and the looked it.

I've had the same reading three days in a row now, and there is froth around the barrel (see picture above) so it's done something. Shall I barrel it now?

    Fermentation and the looked it.

I am using a small pack of yeast I got with a woodfords sundew brewing kit. What it was I don't know.

    Fermentation and the looked it.

Thank you all. It's been a colder week so the room temperature is around 18 degrees C. Was tempted to just buy another bucket with airlock and start over.

    Fermentation and the looked it.

Do I give it a gentle mix? Or do anything to help it ferment? It's been a week today. Thanks!

    Fermentation and the looked it.

Hello all! First time brewing a beer, and have a few questions about the fermentation stage. The bucket I got in a set didn't have a hole for an airlock, so I've had to leave it unclipped on one side a little to let the gasses out. (I'll be getting a better one for next time!) This is the 7th...

    Fermentation

Yea, I'll be buying a better bucket for next time! I do seem to have froth around the bucket, so it looks like it's done something! I'll check the reading again tomorrow and see! :)
