    Primary Fermenting - how much air???

    I have been stirring mine once a day for the 1st five days. That’s what the last 2 recipes had me doing I’m not sure if there is a standard to go by. I use a pillow case to cover my bucket with a bungee cord around it. I’m afraid to use a towel because of all the short threads they have.

    I’m starting my 1st mead using a mead kit. I says to let ferment in primary for about 2 weeks till the SG doesn’t change for 2 days. I believe I’ll be leaving for 2 weeks of work before it reaches that point. Will the mead be fine sitting in primary for an extra week or two after fermentation...

    Thanks Yooper, That’s good to know I’m still trying to learn. It says to rack after 2 weeks I just haven’t been home since I transferred to secondary. I have been getting my wife to check for bubbles every other day. I will be transferring it on Friday after I get home.
