ok great thanks for the tips everyone. how does the Apfelwein turn out? I have never brewed before obviously so when I think cider, I think of the major brands. Is the taste along the lines of any brand? would I be able to buy the cider kit and just brew the apfelwein with the kit?

I am brand new and would like to purchase a brew kit. Whether it is a Mr.beer or otherwise, I thought this would be the best place to buy kit, from experienced brewers.

also, I want to bottle it with those glass bottle instead of the plastic ones that comes with the kit. Is that ok to do? If it is, what kind of bottles would I need?

I am going to be ordering the mr.beer cider kit and will brew it by their directions for the first few times just to get a basic handle of it. Once I feel comfortable with that I will branch off but just getting a feeling for the brewing process. I have read a lot but haven't read a clear yes...

which factor is more important when trying to get a sweeter and less dry cider, the juice used or the yeast used? I am new but want to brew a batch that is not too dry and sweeter

has anyone used the Cider brew kit? I am new to the hobby and am pricing out the cider brew kit. Just wondering what your experiences and any advice you could lend.

I believe there are a few farms around the libertyville area that sell it year round if I remember correctly

just started getting into the whole brewing thing so I am reading a lot and trying to get all the terminology down. Sooo, for those that brew cider, where is a good place to start out? I am looking for a good step by step guide that explains the process. I am ordering the mr.beer brew kit...
