Wlp060 American ale yeast blend in hoppy IPAs?

What are your experiences with wlp060 in terms of hoppyness and bitterness in IPA? Any impact on hops flavor aroma and bitterness? Muted? Elevated? So far only used wlp001 and 051. Cheers

    Wlp060 vs Wlp001

So should I expect something similar to 001 with just a touch of 051 and anchor lager strain? I am planning to brew an American porter. What do you think how 060 will perform?

    Wlp060 vs Wlp001

Hi all I've got wlp060 in the fridge for some time and thought I would brew american robust porter. Any thoughts on that? Any experience with that particular strain of yeast? I am fairly satisfied with 001, malty and hoppy, good balance, everything. The white labs say wlp060 taste more lager...

    Wlp023

I have never had a problem leaving for two weeks in primary. In fact that's how I do it with all my beers, from pale ales to stouts. If longer conditioning is required then secondary it is.

    Wlp023

Interesting. I had almost no lag phase, within 7 hours very active fermentation. I hope it does not come off of my fermenter as I do not have a blow off tube. I have 3 gal head space above 4gal of 1.066 stout. Do you control temperature while fermenting? I keep it at the lowest recommended.

    Pale Ale Hop Schedule

I would use simcoe for bittering instead of cascade. Overall hop combo is very cool. If you are really up there for aroma then I would eliminate 30 min hop addition. What I usually do in my PA is only one bittering addition at 60 min and then move everything to knock out and do at least 30 min...

On the other hand I am not saying that roasted barley should not be in oatmeal stout, I have had some fantastic oatmeal stout a with insane amount of...

WLP023 Burton ale yeast in oatmeal stout

I was gonna use some roasted barley but I read in numerous sources that in classic British oatmeal stout roastiness should be limited. Even brad smith says in his blog that roasted barley is a no go for oatmeal stout. Regarding the wlp023 , yeah, I chose these little fellas for that fruity...

Hi there I have wlp023 been sitting in my fridge for some time since I was sold on their fantastic performance in stouts and porters. Since then I have been searching for some recipes that actually used wlp023, experience with it etc and surprisingly there are very little (at least on the...
