    2 rehydrations 2 different results

this yeast is pretty temperature sensitive in my experience and very different from what you'd expect from a belgian yeast (warm to hot ferm temps). i make a belgian pale with it and ferment low (appx 62F). Great beer, no sharp or medicinal flavors at all and pretty darn tasty belgian flavors i...

    Mark 2 Keg Washer

i got one of these too. just a heads up that 6.5 gallon carboys, at least mine, don't fit correctly on the base. i got it to work by double stacking a carboy drainer on top of the base and then it worked fine and was stable. I think it works great for cleaning kegs.

Great work! Do you have the Shark Bite Red recipe?

    Strong Bitter Common Room ESB

I think you'll be happy with the results. Maris Otter is fantastic stuff, but I'm on the same versatile/cheap thing with base malt. I use regular 2-row (current bag is Malteurop) with a little victory/munich mixed in. Is it exactly the same as using MO? no, not exactly but I think it's damn...

What Hops for a sweet stout?

i use fuggles in mine, seem to work well and not get in the way of the core sweet stout flavor profile. no aroma hops.

a homebrew ESB from my last batch (5 months old). surprisingly good still but I like the latest/fresher version more. now a Lagunitas Lil Sumpin Wild, yum

American Brown Ale Sierra Nevada Tumbler Clone

just made my own variant of this recipe, very similar to others posted. mine turned out a bit darker than Tumbler with maybe a hint more smoke character (which i like). http://hopville.com/recipe/857895/american-brown-ale-recipes/beetlejuice-brown-ale

    A Brewing Water Chemistry Primer

Hi everyone, going to take a crack at going with RO water for my next brew, an oatmeal stout. here's the recipe: http://hopville.com/recipe/927282/oatmeal-stout-recipes/updegraff-oatmeal-stout-2011-10-08-version my question is, would it be preferrable to add the CaCL and gypsum to just the...

    What's your go-to-homebrew?

my house pale ale with cascade/columbus/citra all late hopped. i've made it about 5 times (only been homebrewing a little over a year) and it's consistently a favorite even with those that don't usually like hoppy beers. lately I've been upping the 10 and 0 min additions a bit higher...

Best recipe for first all-grain brew?

I'll second this recipe. it's one of my favorites. i use s04 and 12oz of choc malt but otherwise keep the recipe as is. It's a great summer porter too :)

IPA with Cascade, Citra and... ?

i've got one that's got more focus on late hopping. but i've made it a few times and have been very happy with the results http://hopville.com/recipe/624884/american-pale-ale-recipes/caliban-pale-ale Just something else to think about. Good luck on the brew!
