I'm in the planning stage of building a pump/toolbox combo and am hoping someone can help me with the wiring.
I've attached a diagram of what I've come up with. Basically I want 2 switches so that I can separately control power to the gfci outlet and an additional outlet (also protected by the...
If it's a 5# tank then the high pressure gauge isn't necessarily an accurate reflection of the remaining CO2. Mine fluctuates quite a bit when I'm purging or burst carbing.
I always cold crash the beer for 24-48 hours before adding my gelatin mixture, I then let it sit for ~ 72 hours before transferring to the keg.
As far as preparing the gelatin mixture itself, I boil 1 cup of water in the microwave then remove/cover it to let it cool down to ~ 150 F. Then I...
Was the airlock clean/sanitized? Was it kept in a closed fermentation chamber that is reasonably clean and is free of mold? If so I'd imagine it's just fine. Either way I wouldn't dump it, once you're certain fermentation is complete I'd bottle/keg as normal and see how it turns out.
While I don't really understand the desire for caffeinated beer, if you're just interested in the bitterness from the caffeine and hoping to hide the pomegranate taste, why not just use pure caffeine?
There's no real reason to use a kit IMHO if you have a local homebrew store. Just find a recipe you like (there are plenty on here) and make your shopping list.
I don't like the idea of kits simply because they are "one size fits all" since everyone uses different equipment and has different...
Stirring typically helps but when that fails I always just open the valve and blow through the tube lol. Not the most sanitary method but it's pre-boil so who cares.
Curious about this as well. I can find Savogran brand TSP at HD/Lowes but haven't been able to figure out if it's the exact same stuff. Red Devil advertises that it's phosphate free (still not sure Tri-Sodium Phosphate can be phosphate free haha but that's another discussion) while this brand...
Just had to do this on Saturday because I've working on my kegerator top and don't have my faucets hooked up.
- Chill the growler in the freezer
- Dial the pressure back to 2-3 psi and purge the keg
- Hold the growler at a 45 degree angle over a bucket or bowl to catch the overflow
- Fill...
I've experienced this as well. Happened to a piece of vinyl tubing I was using as a blow off tube. I cold crashed the beer for several days and when I took it out the tubing was covered in an oily/milky residue.
I just ended up tossing it, not sure of the exact cause unfortunately.
Edit: I...
Thanks for the response. I reached out to Taprite and they confirmed the threads are in fact the same.
I'm going to give this a shot the next time I get my tank refilled, hoping that by re-positioning the regulator I'll be able to make room for an additional keg.
Edit - Should also mention...
