I'll be brewing up the same Red Ale from Midwest very soon...I hope in the next week. I'll keep an eye on this post for sure, as well as maybe we can share our results. This will be my first batch ever as well.
Cheers!
So I haven't even bottled my first brew, but I'm stoked with anticipation. I'm beginning with a Red Irish Ale.
I love history and beer, so I sort of combined my two loves. The name: Sputnik Irish Ale. The Sputnik comes in with the sanitizing my airlock with Russian Vodka, and the Irish Ale is...
1) Should the bottles be standing or resting on their side?
2) Placed in a fridge or kept out at room temp, which in my basement is a consistent low 70s?
3) Keep bottled 2 or 3 weeks before serving?
Thanks in advance. I'm sure I'll be posting more questions.
CHEERS!
Partial boils? Would that be say dividing my grain in half, then boiling a 2 gallon pot, pouring it in my 5 gallon bucket, then boiling 2 more gallons with the remaining grains?
New to the brew, here...
Trying to decide between buying a 4 gal stainless pot and using my gas stove top, or spending a little bit more for a turkey fryer...would love any insight.
Greetings!
Just got my beginners kit from Midwest Supplies and can't wait to brew up my first batch of Irish Red Ale.
Any tips or tricks from the more experienced members out there. I'm super stoked to begin!
Thanks in advance and cheers!
