    Ball lock gas post leaks

After cleaning up a bunch of sanitizer off the floor I have scientifically deduced that the post won't hold pressure.......

    Ball lock gas post leaks

This is wierd... at least to me. The 7/8" post fit the leaky key perfectly, but the 11/16" post that came off the leaky keg won't fit on the other keg. Well it starts to screw on but will not screw in all the way. I was hoping to use the keg to carb up 1/2 a 10 gal batch of dunkelweizen...

    Ball lock gas post leaks

Sorry for the slow update. Work is interfering with my beer. I tried a new... "found what I thought was a new o-ring" in my catch all brew drawer. I put it on and it was a constant leak. It had to be a new o-ring because all I use are ball lock and the baggies of new o-rings all go...

When I store OneStep cleaner sanitizer in anything plastic funky white stuff appears

I use starsan and if I let it sit or if anything sits in it too long there is a film that develops. I have no idea if this is a bad thing or not but I try to avoid if at all possible.

    Ball lock gas post leaks

I have one keg that will sometimes leak if you wiggle the disconnect. It otherwise holds pressure if the disconnect is off the keg and it doesn't matter which disconnect I put on it the behavior is the same. It is a fine keg and I hate to lose it, but I can't trust it hooked up to my tank if...

    Missed pre-boil volume Decoction mash

I use beersmith to set up my first decoction mash. Everything went pretty well except I missed my pre-boil volume by 3 gal. I normally have about 13 gal but ended up with only 10. I used water to top off and hit 75% efficiency. That was ok, but I wonder what went wrong. Also, I would...

Blonde Ale Miller Lite (Really Triple Hopped)

I have my third batch of this brew in the primary right now. SG was 1.038 and after a week on Saflager 34/70 @ 50F it is 1.002 double checked between my hydro and refractometer. Hydro was as I read it 1.002 and the refractometer was 1.0017etc... Adjusted reading of course. My question...

Blonde Ale Miller Lite (Really Triple Hopped)

Well.... I'll never dry hop with fuggles again. The beer tastes ok, but the fuggles flavor and aroma is killing it for me. Also, the yeast got it to 1.006 and the enzyme got it to 1.000. Think it would be possible to redry hop with cascade in the keg or a noble hop? The bitterness is on...

Blonde Ale Miller Lite (Really Triple Hopped)

I have a batch with Fuggles. It will hit two weeks on the dry hop this Saturday. While I'm at it. Once it's kegged is it carb and serve or lager a while?

Keg vs Bottle or Why is one cloudy and the other clear...

I swapped my fermenting and serving fridge, more for mounting proper taps through the door than anything, and it dropped the kegs to 38F. Voila! The keg is clear.... Well, it is noticeably clearer at least.

Keg vs Bottle or Why is one cloudy and the other clear...

This keg has been setting for a month at 40-42. Barring an earthquake, unlikely, or aliens, the sneaky bastards, I doubt the keg has moved other than the whole earth around the sun thing. Based on what you said would the 4 deg make all the difference? I am starting to believe it does.

Keg vs Bottle or Why is one cloudy and the other clear...

Normally my keg beer runs clear, if I can still see through it, and I rarely bottle. However, I have a Scottish 60/- on tap and I, from the keg, filled a couple bottles for a friend. He forgot them so I popped one open after a week and it was crystal clear while the keg is kind of murky. I am...

Blonde Ale Miller Lite (Really Triple Hopped)

Update: Batch #1 I took a hydro sample today and WOW! From 1.031(shooting for 1.030) to 1.006 from saturday afternoon till today. I think I seriously over pitched my slurry. The sample tastes really mild with a faint hint of the fuggles and no off flavors. The stick on therm is shot so I...

Blonde Ale Miller Lite (Really Triple Hopped)

Brewed this twice yesterday. The beer budget was raided due to the holidays so I used what I had on hand. Should be close I hope. Both batches were all 2-row (5lb 4oz) with 4oz of Victory. Batch one is using 3 gen S-33 and Fuggles for bittering(18 IBU) and dry hop. Batch two is using...

    Advice on my recipe

I am limited on yeast. All I have on hand is S-33. I was hopeing the smoked malt would offset the use of a different yeast.
