    I'm sorry I'm new, i don't have a hydrometer. i used champagne yeast, the temp in the brew closet is 68-75 degrees. i did a piss poor job pitching the yeast, do you think this is to blame?

    How much DME do I use on a 5 gal. bucket brew? 5 lbs. DME / 10 cups brown sugar? Seems like a lot?:fro:

    using 7 gal bucket, lid is on tight. airlock is 1 piece plastic, it is secure in the lid of the bucket and the plastic cap is on top. I know, I know the buckets are cheep, but Im new this is my first run ever. I wanted to try it b4 I invested a bunch of money. I am however having alot of fun...

    I did a Noob Job on my yeast re hydration, I'm yet to See bubbles in the Air Lock. @ 36 hrs. I had some good news, when I place my ear to the bucket I can here a popping sound. It's almost like someone pored fresh soda in the bucket.:fro::rockin:

    No dice, 5 days no action. No Co2 at all in orange mix. dumped and started Apple recipe. waiting for Co2 bubbles. keeping fingers crossed. What is the best type of sugar to use? raw? refined? organic? brown? PB Jelly time :ban::fro:
