Curious, did you verify the internal volume markers were correct by using a kettle with known accurate markers? Pour from one to the other to see if it matches.
I also can see on Brewbuilts product video the volume marker goes up to around 12 gallons but they insist its actually 14. Very...
It did. I don't think the yeast died, we haven't changed anything. We add the sugar to the bottling bucket after boiling and cooled. Then transfer.
Only thing I can think of is the flow became weak and slowed the whirlpool action and never mixed the sugar correctly. We have never stirred the...
Something happened with our last batch. Every batch has came out great except we changed one thing, we tried to filter from primary to bottling bucket. We aren't using a secondary yet as its just a hobby and narrowing down recipes. We're getting better at transferring only clear liquid but...
Hey all. Figured I would update this thread on what I did if anyone cares.
I got a box of chai tea and brewed about 4 liters of water. Used a typical american stout extract kit from local HBS. Also added about 1 lb of honey near end of the boil. Cooled down both the brewed tea and mash...
so what did was used an ipa kit and added almost 3 lbs of honey. After 2 weeks in a bottle i tasted it and really good! Best part is its about 9.7 %.
I used safale 05 double pitch and 2 anise stars although not much anise taste.
Great advice... thanks! So far in the first 5 batches I've made, I have been shaking the fermenter a lot before locking the lid on. So far no problems with any beers. Maybe I'll get one of those aquarium pumps but haven't looked into it much. Our temps can vary but I'll see if I can maintain the...
what was your abv? this one is supposed to be 11.5% if it's true to the commercial version. and to buy it in the store it costs $10 for a 4 pack. I think I'm gonna give it a shot!
Thanks inhousebrew but I found it!

It goes on to say I will need 2 packs of yeast, I will likely stick with the Wyeast Northwest Ale 1332. Also 17lbs of extract! This should be interesting :) If I do...
Maybe someone can help me with an idea I have. I'm looking to make a higher gravity to drink for around end of December this year. I think the Double Dog Double Pale Ale is pretty good and could not find a clone for extract brewing anywhere.
I found this though...
I'm a noobie this year to home brewing. I've made three beers using extract kits so far and everything is going pretty good.
I need your help in how to make this new idea. I want to make a vienna style lager with chai tea. But problem is it looks like vienna lagers are difficult to make with...
Much thanks for the replies thus far! I'm starting to get torn on what exactly I will want/need.
Couple quick questions:
1) Some people have mentioned getting a pump. At first I didn't understand why I would need one but then I started picturing my setup in my head. If I use gravity to...
