My friend came over and we re-wired just as advised for my edgestar br3001 and it worked just as you said! The main pcb looks exactly as you have pictured. Can’t believe it was that simple. I couldn’t get any appliance repair person to even take a look at it for over a year! This thing is on...
Thank you! My manual has none of those details for my model. I’ll have to touch base with a friend who is well versed in electric and see if he can help me out.
I don’t trust myself.
Sounds great! My internal thermostat goes haywire when there are drastic changes in ambient temps so it would be nice to eliminate it from the equation.
That sounds promising. Do you have the same edgestar model? I’m a total dummy when it comes to this stuff so any help/pics you might have would be a huge help!
I have an edgestar br3001 with a digital thermostat (ugh) and I’m hoping to bypass the thermostat and use an inkbird. Any idea how I could go about doing this successfully?
To circle back i brewed this beer. Single packet non-rehydrated in the low 60s and the end result is very nice! Crisp and clean finish and supports the Maltiness well. Recommended for sure.
So many posts, I’m sure this has been inquired about several times already. I have a packet of s189 I’m thinking about fermenting warm in a Schwarzbier this weekend. Anyone successfully ferment this in the lower to middle 60s? What was your pitch temp and fermentation schedule?

Yes, I used all 8.5 oz in 5 gallons. It has a slight sugary note to it. Worked perfect for the gose. Placed second in a bjcp comp in sour category and all said the grapefruit flavor was spot on
I used one small bottle of the grapefruit craft purée in a 5 gallon batch of gose and it turned out great. Adding it to the keg, transferred on top and immediately chilled. Entered into a comp and it did very well. Pissed I only got two bottles at homebrew con when I literally could’ve had a...
Likewise with a mash and boil, insulation and wilser bag with no grain pipe. Usually lose 3-4f max over the coarse of an hour. Stir every 20 mins and shut the unit off after mashing in
Hello looking to do a setup similar to yours. Do you know what measurements you gave wilser for your bag? I don’t have the unit yet. Also, ever any issues with the bag scorching when the mash and boil kicks back on to heat during the mash? Thanks!
