    Gas leak?

Yeah, post is no problem, the poppet is on legs in there. So I'll just get the universal one with my next grain or kit order. Thanks for all the help!

    Gas leak?

Well, I don't even have a clue how to remove it if I can....it's really jammed in there. Now I can't even press it down in the post.

    Gas leak?

Nope. Didn't even think about it. How can I even get that out of there?

    Gas leak?

Yes, if you mean the oring around the edge.

    Gas leak?

So, I changed my Orings in a root beer keg. Looks like they're okay, but now I have a gas leak when I take the co2 Quick disconnect off. Bubbles are around the circle in the middle (poppet?), I've tried replacing orings again, adjusting it with a screwdriver, unscrewing/reseating, keg lubing...

My third brew ever, a little nervous

Be diligent in your cleaning and sanitation. Every time I brew, I spray star san consistantly every time I check temps of grain/wort/etc, cups for measure hydrometer samples, etc. What went wrong in your other brews? Was it after fermentation or during the brew? Myself, I put 2.5 gallons...

Cold crashing first time take a look please

But if you gelatin in the keg, you have to worry about sucking up some small jelly balls unless you rack to another one.

Star San Mixture is Cloudy - Thoughts on My Water?

I can tell if the starsan is okay, because it has a very mesquite smell and makes me cough pretty good when I spray it around if it's good. If I don't notice it, then it must be weak.

Will I Be Able To Brew Without Any Problem?

You MIGHT get some off flavor and fusel tastes at those temps. Very important to chill the wort below 70F (sry not sure of C) before pitching yeast to improve taste. I also have been using a water bath for temp control at 62-64 degrees to try and help the yeasties stay in a good temp...

    Another batch sparge question

I get consistent 75-80% efficiency using a 8 gallon pot on a double gas burner on the stove. I mash with 4 gallons of water, then put into 2 buckets put together, where one has a whole bunch of holes in it (seriously took 1.5 hours to make all the small holes) set inside another bucket. Dump...

How long for water bath fermentation?

Thanks all for your advice. I decided to go ahead and remove the beer from the water bath. There's still some krausen on top, so I'll wait until sunday, and then take an initial FG reading. That'll put it at about 2 weeks, hopefully, the yeast will pull out some and settle.

How long for water bath fermentation?

So I brewed a Saison about a week and a half ago, and have kept the fermentation bucket in a water bath at 55-60 for about 5 days, and have let it slowly come up since that. The water is now at 65 degrees. Krausen has dropped quite a bit since Saturday. Am I probably okay to let it come up to...

Worst Homebrewing Mistakes - HBT Article

Not pay attention after starting wort chiller and having boiling hot water come out onto your hand for a few seconds. Very lucky the burn wasn't worse. ALWAYS pay attention to everything, but more so when there is the potential for disaster.

Drink a Beer in the Shower.

I enjoy spouting a small sip out like a fountain, and feeling it hit my chest and washing off with the water....cleansed by the alcohol!

    Record keeping

brewing software eventually, right now, just good old pen and paper, taking notes about what works and what doesn't (like waiting close to 3 hours for the wort to cool off, even after using an immersion chiller)
