Help me with finaly making a Granville Island winter ale Clone , any help is good.

Well I gave this one a go tonight, as Christmas is coming quickly (boo). I've had a month to get everything ready, and then as I go to weigh grain I realize I didn't have Munich, I had Caramel Munich. Since I leave for a race this week and then right to work I wouldn't be able to brew again...

Help me with finaly making a Granville Island winter ale Clone , any help is good.

Not normally one to resurrect an old thread, but this seems the closest I've found to a recipe for Lion's Winter Ale. My wife and I want to brew this to give out as a Christmas gift and I'm actually thinking ahead (we talk about this each year around December 1). Did this work out for anybody...

$1,000 to spend - what do you buy?

I'm glad to see this thread, I was actually just about to ask the exact same question! I'm in Canada though, so $1000 doesn't go very far, and in my area everybody thinks fridges and freezers are the same price as gold. After I researched last night I felt that most people said a fermentation...

6 Months in Carboy... Still OK?

Just an after thought now, would it be possible or worthwhile to add a couple oz of pure vanilla extract just prior to bottling? I tried searching but can't come up with an answer if this would be possible. I thought about mixing some in with the priming sugar.

6 Months in Carboy... Still OK?

I have a cream ale that I put into my secondary back in, oh lets say, April or so. Do to life happenings, I never managed to put it in bottles. It appears to be in fine condition, and has been airtight for the entire time. I was going to try bottling it but I thought I'd check with you guys...

    Initial IPad question

Should come charged. If not, just plug it in until it says 100%. Should only take a couple hours.

Would like to try an old recipe

Thanks for you guys advice. I'm stuck with Kent hops, as what I bought and there is none anywhere close. I'm mad at myself because I threw out a whole bunch of pH test strips a couple months ago because I never thought I'd use them again. So I guess I'll have to go buy some more. I'm looking...

Would like to try an old recipe

Thanks for the reply. I couldn't get raw honey, but was able to get some fairly dark honey from the local beekeeper co-op. I think I will take your advice about skipping the corn sugar, and about the proper amount of priming sugar. Thanks for the suggestions!

Would like to try an old recipe

Hi there, I've found an old recipe in a book from my father-in-law, and I'm just wondering what you guys thought of it. It's from "The Art Of Making Beer," By Raymond Hull. I tried searching to see if anybody has done anything like this, but failed to find anything close. Honey Beer 5lb...

Very First Batch Need Advice Please

Hey all, first off, thanks to everybody for the help. My forum membership paid off just with this help. I went down to the LHBS to buy a grommet, but she didn't have anything. Then she said that having a hole in the lid for an airlock is old fashioned, and that I should just leave the lid...

Very First Batch Need Advice Please

Thanks for the quick responses, I was pretty sure it was going to turn out bad if I kept it sealed. Any idea on what size of hole saw to use to make a hole for the airlock?

Very First Batch Need Advice Please

Hello, My wife bought me the beginner kit for my birthday, and used the Baron's Lager kit that came with everything. I wish I would have found this forum before I started because now I'm sure I've got some problems. The thing is, I followed the directions, and it says for primary fermentation...
