    Question about Fermentation

As I'm looking today, the amount of bubbles/foam has decreased a lot. I took off the airlock and readjusted it to be safe. Any thoughts on if this is a problem, and if it is what I should try doing? Thanks

    Question about Fermentation

Hey PT Ray, Should have specified; I meant no bubbles. I checked right now with a light, and there are spots of (what looks like) foam/thick bubbles, covering a good portion of the top layer. Any thoughts? Early indicators that things are going correctly? Thanks!

    Question about Fermentation

Thanks for the comments and the help! And yeah, should have clarified on that; I was referring to air lock activity, and I'm using a carboy.

    Question about Fermentation

Hey everybody, I recently brewed a sweet stout, and had a couple questions: 1) I didn't add the lactose yet, and am planning on doing before boiling (along with my dextrose). What is the best method for doing so? Boil in water (how much?), and then toss in bottling bucket? 2) I'm not...

What about trub in the actual bottles? This is what happened to me on my first batch... is there anyway to avoid this?

Couple of questions from a first timer...

I used Safbrew T-58 Yeast. Here are the instructions: http://www.fermentis.com/FO/pdf/HB/EN/Safbrew_T-58_HB.pdf Since I did the second option (pitched dry yeast), what does it mean by "mix the wort e.g. using aeration"? And thanks for the suggestions! Will make sure to buy a turkey...

Couple of questions from a first timer...

Thanks for all the responses! Feel a lot better about my batch now! Some responses: 1. To clarify, the batch is in a carboy, which I have placed in a big bucket from Wal-Mart; the temperature of the water is 76 degrees. Any thoughts? 2. How am I supposed to get the liquid out of the carboy for...

Couple of questions from a first timer...

Hey everybody, recently brewed my first batch (Belgian Dubbel) and am excited to try it! :mug: Had a couple issues with brewing, including: 1. Boilover (what a mess!) 2. Sat around for four hours waiting for wort to chill without realizing that I could give it an ice bath... Despite...
