I have my kombucha in second fermentation in bottleneck bottles. The carbonation has pushed the fruit puree into the neck and out of the liquid. Will this fruit go bad (and if so how quickly do I need to consume it)? Or is the entire chamber generally a safe place because of the acid...
It has been fermenting for four days. I haven't checked the gravity because I just got a hydrometer yesterday, and I'm still trying to get over my initial fear of entering the carboy!

I washed the apples but did not rinse the apples after cutting them to put into the juicer. Some of them were wormy and most were bruised. I think I forgot...
