Funny. I like Ranger, but thought it needed more hops. I actually just kegged an IPA using the same hops as Ranger, but twice as much.

No reason not to. Yeast starters are easy and efficient. I use an old growler and liquid yeast, way better brewing in my opinion.

I didn't make my first starter for more than a year after I started brewing. Now I always make one. It's an extra step, but it's really easy and you know what you are putting in your beer. My beers turned out fine for the most part before using starters, but I won't go back!

Should be fine. I'd put it back in the fridge, but I've used inflated packs that were expanded for weeks.
