Anyone know how much spice is in the spice pack in the 5 gallon brewers best summer ale kit? The LHBS didn't have the kit bit they did have bitter orange peel and lemon peel which i think is what is in the spice pack. Anyway, I have an ounce of each but I'm thinking it might be too much...
I bought a 2 keg setup with 2-way air distributor from kegconnection a couple months ago, but I just bought a third keg to add to the kegerator. How do I incorporate the third keg? Do I need to buy a 3-way air distributor? Or is there a "Y" that I can buy to split off from one of the hookups...
Thanks for the replies! I took out the post and replaced the o-ring with a replacement o-ring that kegconnection provided with the kit and that worked. Turns out the o-ring that was on the post to begin with was a little bigger than it should've been and that was the problem.
I just started kegging and yesterday I went to connect the liquid line to my pin lock keg, but i ran into a problem. I can't get the quick disconnect to go down far enough on the liquid post to be able to turn it to lock it in and have it stay. I was able to get it down far enough so that the...
I just brewed this yesterday, but I used US Hallertau. Is that OK? Maybe I didn't look hard enough but I didn't see any other kind of Hallertau at the LHBS.
Thanks, that helps a lot. Gavin, can I ask why you wish you had gone with the Perlick faucets? Do they just look nicer or do they actually perform better?
I'm finally going to start kegging, but having never owned a keg setup before, I'm having trouble figuring out what I really need. I'm looking on Kegconnection.com right now and I'm going to go with a 2 keg keezer with collar setup (not picnic taps), but I'm overwhelmed by the options. Here...
I'm brewing a SMaSH IPA this weekend but I've never put together my own recipe (SMaSH seems like an easy place to start but apparently not easy enough since I'm still here asking questions).
For a 5 gallon recipe, I was thinking 10lb golden promise mashed at 150 for 75 mins with this hop...
Is it necessary to fill the jars all the way up for any reason? I have a ridiculous number of quart jars, but no pint jars. I ended up filling two quart jars about 3/4 of the way full, but now I'm wondering if I should combine to make one full one and dump the other one.
I have a milk stout in primary that I'm going to put in secondary tonight. I want to try to reuse the yeast for the first time. I was originally just going to follow the instructions here:
https://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=41768
but I would also like to brew an IPA tonight so I'm...
