Thanks for the replies, but I'm not looking to brew that specific batch, I was merely curious about the book as a whole, and if anyone else have heard of it/tried it, and was in the same position i am in now? It seems to me that there are both 5 gallon and higher batch size recipes in there...

I just went through some more recipes in the book and found this one where it says "sparge to make 11 gallons". Obviously that's not a 5 gallon recipe :( I'm just confused by this book Batch 25: Category Barleywine Recipe Type All Grain Fermentables 20 lbs lager malt .5 lbs...

Thanks, I really wasn't planning on brewing that exact recipe, it was just an example, but if that seems like 5-5,5, then a recipe with more than 20 lbs malt must be more.. I just don't understand it. Is there anyway to calculate the batch size from the amount of ingredients?
