    Chocolate Stout Recipe Help

Hebby, I always get plenty of praise on my Double Chocolate Stout and I'll be making it for the 3rd year soon. My suggestions for your recipe: use 8oz of cocoa powder at 10 min left in the boil along with 12oz lactose powder, cut out your flaked oats (theres enough mouthfeel in the lactose)...

Think ahead, brew your Pumpkin Ales now!

Theres no brew day I love more than pumpkin ale day. Pumpkin in the mash and spices in the boil overwhelm the neighborhood with a prelude of the cool fall nights and pumkinny-orange beer to come! Just sayin.

    Bourbon

Add a few oz of oak chips to the secondary and scale back the bourbon to 5oz. A lot of the bourbon flavor is oak anyhow so they compliment each other perfectly

    Question about when Hops Flower

I guess I lucked out. Well I definitely did. I was accidentally mailed my rhizome order twice so I ended up with 16 first year hops this season. 6 cascades, 2 Columbus, 2 fuggle, 2 galena, 2 mt hood, and 2 norther brewer. They grew and are producing hops in that order (best to worst). The...

    Filling a sanke (sankey)

Juan, or anyone, I'd be interested in hearing tips for quicker/easier removal of the keg's spiral ring. Ive done it about 5 times and I'm still struggling. I use a narrow flathead screwdriver to pry it out enough to grab it with needle nose pliers and use a small hammer to tap it back into place...

    First year Hops sprouts.

Your sprouts will take 2-3 weeks to surface and will look like my pic. Those are not hops.

I found out what's eating my hop plants.

Copper shielding has worked well for me... If you can get some. I built a few MRI rooms and had some of the sheet copper left over... Not sure where to get it otherwise but they make copper rings for this purpose too

Damn Puppy - will the Rhizome survive?

Well it sounds unreal, but after only a week and a half the rhizome in question just surfaced a head! It's hard to believe that the 6" root clipping was left in the open warm air for 2 weeks and chewed on by our pup yet still survived. It was so dried out that it had almost no weight to it and...

Is this a bush or bine?!? Time to trim?

Its hard to tell from this picture, but this Columbus plant has 9 heads / side shoots. As a result, no shoot has took the lead to begin its journey up the twine. Should I trim this guy or is it still too small? It broke ground 5 weeks ago and it's brothers are ~2' tall now.
