    Photographing Beer?

+1 on the no flash, you might like to try this... Set up a light source that shines up through the bottom of a clear pint glass, just through the bottom. Try it with a flashlight and I think you will get the idea, I would use a black background for less distraction. Good luck.

First batch of apfelwein, a bit odd during racking

Loup, You might have bottled a bit early. If one of my batches acted like that, I would open a bottle and see if it showed signs of becoming a bottle-bomb. It's common to see some off-gassing, but not enough to break siphon. Good luck. Oh BTW. many people do consider it to be a hard cider.

    cranfelwein

According to my records I have done 25 gallons of this same variation of Apfelwein with Ocean Spray cranberry, with both table and corn sugar. I found the table sugar to be cheaper and to give very good results, but it's a matter of opinion. I always use a champagne yeast, I've noticed...

Do you groom your man bits?

I'm a Noob, so please bare with me. I got my car-boy's cleaned up as per the thread, but due to time constraints... went directly to the primary. I did remember to use Idaphor on the blow-off tube before proceeding to the secondary, but did not let it dry... Is my beard ruined?

    Cranberry Wine

I started a batch 2 weeks ago, very active fermentation compared to my Apfelwein. I used 5 Gal. "Western Family" cranberry juice (no preservitives) 2 Lb. corn sugar and Lalvin K1-V1116 yeast. No clue what it tastes like, but it will work. I call mine "Crapfelwein"

    Alternative yeast for Apfelwein

I have had good results with the Champagne and with the added bonus of no foul smell, I would do it again.

How many gallons of EdWort's Apfelwein have been made?

Hi, I'm in for 15.5 G. Why? Because that .5 is just wrong. I'll try to figure out what to do with the extra 15 G. Carry on. 8052.5 + 15.5 = 8,068
