Those valves are for bleeding air from the system for priming (this is a Spike design and it works great). The inlet of the pump is rotated to the top as opposed to the bottom. I really do not use the Blichmann valves - I bought these pumps because they are quiet and they perform well.

seeing this on other Spike Systems I thought it would be more convenient during brew day - less bending over to connect hoses.

Figured I would share the finished product for the table reinforcement idea from DrummingGuy81. Thanks again DrummingGuy81...this worked perfectly and table is not flexing at all now. Also attached are pics of how I attached my pumps with two stainless steel muffler clamps. Had to drill 1/2"...

Very stable. No rocking once you have the center post and feet adjusted properly. Essentially, you adjust the feet until the center post touches the ground. I move it occassionally to clean but put some sharpie marks on the floor so I dont need to readjust for a new spot.

Shipping will be rather expensive so I would rather deal locally. Plus, this would have to be disassembled to ship properly which would likely take an entire day to do so.
