HI
Has anyone ever done a cast ale? I understand the idea to be that the final fermantation is without an airlock so the pressure is retained and it carbonates the beer.
It is a similar concept to the carbonation produced in bottle conditioning.
I use a corny keg, add some priming...
Has anyone tried using a 120v under sink water heater to maintain the temp of a mash?
I think i will try to run the output of my mash tun thru a pump and into the input of the on demand water heater.
I am not sure what the max output temp of the heater is though.
Has anyone used this to regulate mash temp on a HERMS setup?
Basically I want to use a March pump to circulate my mash liquid through a coil in my HLT. I want to automate the circlulation by plugging into this controller and putting the prob in a trermowell in the mash.
I have checked several times. I even tried to hook up only the power and nothing. I think I fried it.
Can it cause problems if the wire is overheated? i.e. solder iron was applied to long
I followed this wiring and everything was operating correctly.
Then I decided to solder the wire splices and now nothing works. It doesn't even power up at all. Is this because I left the leads wired in to the controller?
Well put "electrons" I am going to mount the controller into the side of the ferm chamber and use a junction box on the inside for the cords. Everyone tends to over complicate things on here, lights, receptacles , bells and whistles. Give me function K.I.S.S.
I would like to use this controller with out wiring in the outlet. I will be using a small heater and a fan on the cool side. I want to cut the plug off of the heater and hard wire it directly into the controller. Will this cause issues?
