    Sous Vide mash anybody?

Nice setup. That's the same sous vide heater I have, guess I need to use it for mashing in.

FWIW Amazon has the Anova 800w Sous Vide Cookers for $129 now.

    Sous Vide mash anybody?

Amazon has them for the same price, $129 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UKPBXM4/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20). Thats the 800 watt bluetooth version. Not sure if $20 more for the 900 watt wifi version is worth it. For those mashing with the sous vide heaters, don't you really have to...

Am I about to ruin my kettle? Weldless Ball Valve Kit

I'm ordering parts for my new kettle and plan on using silicone on the inside before I tighten everything. Specifically Food Grade RTV silicone. RTV silicone is stronger than the stuff you buy from Home Depot. Adding silicone helps prevent the bulkhead from rotating, not to mention extra...

    Grainfather!!

It can/will throw a breaker if you have other things on the same circuit that are pulling enough amps. Things like a hairdryer or coffee maker will do it. Depends on how much is on your circuit.

    Grainfather!!

Try a different circuit in case its poor wiring.

    Grainfather!!

In terms of venting, just make sure the moisture has somewhere to go so it doesn't stay trapped in your brewing room and potentially cause mold. Maybe a fan in a nearby window blowing out. 1 gal of evaporated wort trapped in a 100sf room is a lot worse then throughout a whole house or apartment.

The Grainfather - Unpackaging and first brew

Been almost a year now....hows it working out?

    Grainfather!!

Do we know the price of the boiler? We all know things don't break within the warranty timeframe!:) since this is a weak link I would hope the mfctr would sell them to owners at a very good price.

    Welp, I'm out of business...

So old thread and all. But I was really curious to hear how you resolved the insurance offer ($85k?). At the time you were saying it seemed to be low.

Problem Nailing Down a Red Ale
