I'm not surprised by this. I picked up the Yuengling Oktoberfest this year and I didn't taste much difference than their regular laggers. It certainly wasn't a good example of an Oktoberfest brew.
My barrel arrived yesterday. It looks and smells awesome!! I can't wait to get something into it. Super fast shipping and it's a quality product. Thanks!
I just bought the Ferarri champagne floor corker with the capper attatchment. It cost more but in the long run I'll never have to buy anything else so it's worth it to me. I've bottled 2 batches with it so far and not only is it easier but faster and I no longer get that dent in the caps that I...
+1 for Beer Heaven. I make the trip from South Jersey to go there once in a while since it's easy to get to and the selection is pretty good. The prices at all the shops in Philly are more expensive than what I pay in Jersey but thats the trade up for selection.
This is what I do. I moved from a cooler to a keg and seem to struggle to keep a steady mash temp. I check it every 10-15 minutes and when the temp starts dropping I apply heat and stir like crazy. I batch sparge so I just vorlof and drain the tun when it's time.
I bought the universals for 5 of my kegs. I ended up cutting off a link and a half on the spring with my dremel. Cutting the springs made them not so tight so I don't have issues hooking up the lines. After I cut the spring I bent the end in slightly with pliers so they won't stick out and catch...
The top tier unbolts and I can use it as a stand alone burner by adding a separate regulator. The stand has made brewing so much easier. I'm brewing in the rain as we speak. Having multiple burners shortened time a little. I can start heating the boil kettle as I sparge.
I just finished building this 3 burner, 2 tier, Brew Stand. Nothing fancy but she gets the job done. I used to brew on one burner and had to move the HLT and the boil kettle around. It's nice not having to break my back anymore.
It's a triple brew weekend for me. I just finished up my brew rig and have to break it in.
Friday I brewed an IPA with a Belgian twist. Saturday is a Firestone Walker Double Jack clone and Sunday I'm brewing the Northern Brewer Olde Luddite English Strong Ale from Ibrew.
I put up the canopy...
