    Dunkel Sulfur smell, remove airlock?

I'm not either, that's why I'm looming for ideas. I was thinking it would aerate the beer allowing the smell to dissipate.

    Dunkel Sulfur smell, remove airlock?

If this doesn't improve by the end of next week I'm thinking about doing a splashy transfer into a bucket, letting it sit there for a day or two shaking occasionally, and then a splashy transfer into the keg. I know there's risks involved, but who wants a rotten egg Dunkel?

    Dunkel Sulfur smell, remove airlock?

So fermentation is coming to an end, and this still smells like sulfur. Not as bad as it did originally, but still noticeable. I am going to rack to a keg next week, should I leave this in the primary for another week-10 days? Will any of the smell leave the carboy if there's no activity from...

    Dunkel Sulfur smell, remove airlock?

Hello all, I brewed an AG Dunkelweizen (first attempt) this weekend, and pitched WL Hefe IV with no starter Sunday night. It's been at approx 63-64 bubbling away nicely, from what I read on the forum I know the yeast are probably strained at that temp and that the sulfur smell isn't...

    Safale 05 help, slow start

Hello. As crazy as this sounds, this is my first time using 05. I was aiming for a stronger apa (6.5ish abv) and after two days the airlock is bubbling steadily but there is no layer of foam on top like all my other beers in the past. From what I am reading this is not typical. Other notes: The...

    Bottle carbonation without priming

So the cider is done. I bottled at approx 1.001. It took approx 5 days to get carbed the way I like it, and I put it in the fridge. This is my first cider so I was looking for a quick turnaround, and I got it! It tastes great, lightly carbonated, and I think a higher alcohol content than I...

    Bottle carbonation without priming

Thanks for the quick replies. I basically just looked online and mocked someone's recipe. It's tasting pretty good based on my sample today. I'm at 1.024 right now, I'll bottle at 1.01 and let you guys know what happens!

    Bottle carbonation without priming

So, I'm very new to brewing in general (2 pale ales from extract), and this is my first cider. 4 Gal apple cider from a local orchard, 1 gal of water with 2lbs of white and 2 lbs of brown sugar simmered in, poured that in with the cider and tossed in some campaign yeast from a local brew supply...
