any way to remedy low-ester batch of saison post-fermentation?

I've made quite a few batches with WY3711 as the primary yeast and using Orval dregs in the bottling bucket. By the time the bottles are carbonated (say, 3 weeks) there is already a distinct brett characteristic.

If I ever buy a simulator, I'd have to categorize the purchase more as entertainment than a tool for helping my swing (FOR ME). I'm not discounting the value it would have for some people, but right now I mainly just need to distinguish between a pretty good swing and a pretty bad swing, and I...

I'd love to have a simulator but yea, I can't get past the sticker shock. A couple of weeks ago I found out that there is a business with simulators within driving distance where you can play for $30 or $35 an hour, so I should at least try one out. Harmon is right. Finding swing flaws is only...

No carbonation at all after over two weeks

If there were much priming sugar left to ferment, the beer would have a sweet taste. So while waiting another couple of weeks may give you further carbonation, it will be marginal at best. BTW, I find 2.7 volumes to be on the low side (personal preference), but obviously there are additional...

When I first started playing, the pro shop/starter shack would close during the rare freeze, but gave me permission to go out on the course. I'd walk 18 holes by myself, never see a soul, freeze my rear off but it was great. The pro told me there was one other guy crazy enough to do the same...

Paddy's new video points out a swing flaw I hadn't thought about in a while. Not a new concept, but he sure has a certain flair when explaining things.

That's something I've always had trouble wrapping my head around. Clubhead lag at impact position, properly done (since the clubhead will be higher), makes it necessary to lower the body or do something else to hit the ball flush. And good luck thinking about all that while hitting the ball...

You've got a swing you can work with. Nice. Your swing is probably more photogenic than mine at the moment. I would add one thing to the Dude's remarks (which are spot on). That much sway on the backswing can make timing the downswing more difficult (ask me how I know, I used to get the weight...

Most golf instructors would not argue with Ben Hogan that the left hand grip is mostly felt in the pinkie and two middle fingers, the right hand grip mostly in the middle two fingers. (He preached that power was in the right hand, but that the right hand would take over too soon if the grip was...

I didn't carry a fairway wood in my bag, that helped my decision making process and probably saved me a couple of strokes, since I would have been tempted to go for at least one par 5.

That looks interesting, but my plan A is to actually practice chipping. There's really no excuse for my lack of practice, since I have room in my backyard and time on my hands.

I played again yesterday, same course (Woodland Hills) same tees (seniors), and had a nice, enjoyable round. The seniors' group (usually 8 to 10 guys) my friend plays in invited me into their game of skins and "greenies" and joked that they may have to negotiate down my tentative handicap (I...

I used an interlock for years (probably because Jack Nicklaus's book was one of the first I read) but had to switch to an overlap when my right pinkie was bothering me.

I've played with a bad grip and made compensations because of it, but I'm determined now to do things the easy way. A proper grip simplifies the swing.

Just by coincidence, I watched a youtube match (although it was stroke play) between Snead and Nicklaus yesterday. (1963 Shell's Wonderful World of Golf). Snead was past 50, Nicklaus was 22 or 23. It came down to the last putt. Paddy Harrington has an excellent video on how to grip the club...
