Ha! Thank you for catching that total rookie mistake🤦♂️. I’m fresh out of oat malt and somehow had it in my head that GNO was interchangeable. I’ll cut it back to around 5% and make up the difference in extra white wheat, maybe some extra Pilsner.
I’m doing a Brujos style DIPA tomorrow. Grain bill below based on the wheat/oats I’ve got on hand. I have a bunch of Citra (t-90, lupomax and incognito) so I want to do an all-Citra utilizing all three. Would love some advice on the best hop schedule to get the most out of each. TIA, cheers! 🍻
Interesting, definitely curious to hear the results. Also curious what went into the decision to add the 2nd charge directly to fv rather than the DH keg? And i assume you rouse the hops in the DH keg?
Not rude at all. Appreciate the insight as always. To clarify when I said cool(er) I meant 80-90F vs ~100F. I’ve read that >90 can cause the yeast to overpower hops.
What’s the latest advice for using Voss Kveik with this style? Ferment hot to bring out more esters or cool(er) to suppress a bit and not overpower the hops? Brewing up a quick partial mash no-boil NEIPA with Mosaic, Azacca and Cashmere. Would like to pull out the orange from the Voss but not...
Congrats! That looks delicious. Curious how you managed such a high fg with a low mash temp? Is A011 a notoriously low attenuator? I’ve been struggling with my beers finishing too low. Brewing a double with Verdant now and it’s at 1.017 (79%!) and still dropping. I figured it’s due to...
Treehouse doesn’t distribute so if you can’t make it to any of their locations (but you really should!) your only hope is to phone-a-friend. Enjoy the trip!
Apologies if this has already been covered - searched but couldn’t find it. TIA!
What do you all use as your Mash Volume Limit in your brew software? The Anvil profile in brewfather defaults to 10gal but that doesn’t seem possible when using the malt pipe.
I’m planning a double NEIPA which...
I’ve also noticed no real difference when just dry hopping in the fv directly after soft crashing yeast. I used to use the DH keg but was forced to skip it one batch because my kegs were all in use. i suppose I might be missing out on some hop aroma/expression from not being able to rouse hops...
Adding in the Fermzilla All Rounder as another cheap fermenter for closed transfers (also pressurizable and small enough to fit in a dorm fridge). Been very happy with mine. FermZilla All Rounder Fermenter | 7.9 gal. | 30 L | MoreBeer
Just kegged this batch a few days ago and it’s pretty solid! Nice bitterness up front, a little “green” but hoping that fades to let the citrus/tropical notes to come through a bit. It has a really nice fruity aroma.
Turns out my SilaFine had solidified due to sitting out in my basement...
