No idea why the pics are rotated 90 degrees...apologies

    Show us your panel

I realized the other day that I started this thread some years ago, yet never posted pics of my simple but effective set-up. As so many before me have done, I say "Thank you" to the community. Were it not for all of you I certainly would not have embarked on this project. In the end, I could...

    Four Reasons you Shouldn't Homebrew

Satire of course, just not very good at it... Cost...it is what you want to make of it. I think many of us are "tinkerers" by nature and that is part of the fun. Part of the reason I took up this hobby was I wanted a tangible result at the end of the day. It will always be more expensive if...

Side by Side Build...Need some electrical help

Thanks. I will do that later in the week. I did happen to come across another build using same/similar model. At least they have the same wiring schematic.

    Side by Side Fridge Conversion

You guys did a great job with your builds. I embarked on this project this past weekend. Found a nasty fridge (same wiring diagram). I will be reaching out for a few answers from time to time. Great job!

Side by Side Build...Need some electrical help

I always enjoy watch (looking) at the pictures when someone posts their build. That is certainly my intention and I will come back and begin to add pictures. However, before I do that, I am at a bit of a crossroads. I picked up a fridge which I thought was purely analog, until I got it home...

How do I best stabilize fermenter temp?

I personally put the bulb in a jug of water. I think this is a much closer representation of what is happening within the fermenter/keg than just air. Air has no real thermal mass. Personal opinion. Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

    BIAB help needed

By no means am I an expert, but I have done probably 30 5 gallon batches via BIAB. My initial reaction is you are going to have a difficult time getting all the juicy sugars out of your grain. The premise behind BIAB is you use all of the water you would use for a full boil. Your description...

    Review: SSBrewTech Chronical 7Gal Fermenter

Well written review. While the cost is a bit more than the brew buckets, I do like the idea of dumping trub and harvesting yeast and this is an advantage over the brew bucket. Thanks

    Fried SSR?

Thanks...that is what I was thinking. Thank you for the feedback.

    Fried SSR?

I am confused...if I connect a light bulb and 9 volt to the output does that not defeat the process. I am wondering if I need to connect the 9 volt to the input side? This would make sense as I believe the SSR is fried in the position where it allows current to pass through non-stop. Also as...

    Fried SSR?

Bumping to hope someone has a thought on this.

    Fried SSR?

I think I know the answer to this, but here is one for the group. Did a brew Friday night and something odd happened out of the gate, when I threw the contactor switch, I somehow got a short and tripped the breaker. Turned everything off, opened the box examined all wiring, reassembled had...

Wiring Help - Digitial Volt Meter / Ammeter

An update for those that are interested. Completely hard wired and getting positive reading. Had to plug in an electric drill to get a reading but reading nonetheless. Will brew this weekend and should be fun to watch the numbers move around. Loving the electric brewery. Thanks to all who...
