Why not make him a set up to make Horchata? This is a rice based drink that is popular here in South-central Texas. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horchata It does contain sugar, but you could probably find better sweetener alternatives, such as coconut milk, honey, etc..

Grrr. Stupid me. My fridge thermometer was bad. So much for analog. Picked up a digital and my 50* reading went down to 38* in an hour or so.
