Funny things you've overheard about beer

Today my buddy came over to help brew. He's a little pretentious about beer, but shouldn't be because he really knows nothing. As we tasted the wort after boil, before pitching, he got a serious face and said "I like it, but I'm getting a lot of sweetness in the nose." I stifled a laugh and...

    Seattle Beer Bars?

I'll be there a week after u leave. I was there a couple years ago too. Capitol Hill is an interesting place...but we mainly stuck around Sodo. It was pretty industrial. Georgetown was cool, but not really a taproom. It is a great example of a mid size brewery if u can get a tour. My...

    Diacetyl Rest Didn't Clean Enough

The beer itself has cleared, but there is still a layer of clumps floating. Would a little rousing be a bad idea?

    Diacetyl Rest Didn't Clean Enough

Will it continue to eat the diacetyl even after it reached FG?

    Diacetyl Rest Didn't Clean Enough

I'm working on my first 2 lagers right now. Pulled them from 50 F to room temp of 65 F at exactly 75% atten. Now, about 3 days later, they are at FG of 1.008 and 1.009 which is perfect for what I was expecting, but I still taste buttery flavors. What went wrong and what is there I can do to...

    Planning for my Diacetyl Rest

Thanks I hesitated to pitch at 48, since this was my first lager. Beersmith said a 2 liter starter was sufficient, but from what I was reading other places it seemed a little small, so I wanted to give the yeast an easier time. So does it matter if 75% comes really quickly?

    Planning for my Diacetyl Rest

I've got two lagers going in my fermentation chamber right now. This is my first attempt at a lager and I'm planning out when to do my rest. I've read the threads, but I would like some specific advice if you guys can offer it. I've got 2 five gallon batches that went into the fermenters on...

    New Perlick Faucets Foamy

I know that its highly carbed. I prefer really carbed beer, more like soda. I should still be able to balance it at a higher pressure. According to the formula on that site I should only need 7 ft of line. Ive got 10 and its still running out fast. How would you dispense soda? Most soft...

    New Perlick Faucets Foamy

I built a keezer last year, and the kegs were well balanced, with 7ft of 3/16th beverage line hooked to picnic taps, pressurized to 14-15psi at 35 F. For my birthday I just got three new perlick 525ss and new 10ft lines so I can switch back to picnic taps when needed. I hooked the perl's up on...
