Fermentation chamber for two Speidel fermenters?

True. Not planning on filling both at the same time. I guess I was thinking more along the lines of being able condition two beers at the same time after fermentation is finished on each independently. And I just haven't seen anything that is smaller height wise that could be used as a...

Fermentation chamber for two Speidel fermenters?

Dusting off my rig after a couple year hiatus. Chest freezer kicked the bucket in the interim. Still have my Johnson temperature controller but I'm set on upgrading to a brewpi spark 3 in an upright fermentation chamber. Found an upright freezerless refrigerator on Home Depot's website. 11 cu...

Pretty clever/funny shirt..."I'd dry hop that."

I got a kick out of this shirt on Amazon and had to share...check it out. Almost definitely would go over the heads of non-homebrewers, but funny especially for those who just love to brew IPA's (guilty). A couple others as well: "Beer Makes Me Hoppy" ShirtFunny IPA Shirt :mug:

    American IPA Lakefront IPA clone-ish

Need some advice guys - about a month out from brewing a 10 gallon batch of this all-grain...gravity sitting around 1.022 : ( ...taste is predominately sweet/malty, but the harsh resinous chinook seems to bring a bit of balance. Trying to troubleshoot why my FG is so high...mash temp was on...

    American IPA Lakefront IPA clone-ish

Went on the Lakefront tour this past week. For anyone trying to most closely imitate the original, the tour guide told me they use White Labs yeast.

My First Pump - Mash Tun to BK Transfer Question

Oh I agree with having more sparge water than necessary to avoid that situation, but my post said "when you finish pumping your sparge (I meant sparged wort) from the MLT to BK"...wouldn't want to waste any beer and leave it behind in the MLT!

My First Pump - Mash Tun to BK Transfer Question

Gotcha, guess I'll think about a two tiered system. And not to beat a dead horse, but even with two pumps...when you finish pumping your sparge from the MLT to BK, theres going to be a few seconds after it finishes draining that your pump is going to run "dry" before you shut it off, right? I...

My First Pump - Mash Tun to BK Transfer Question

@Bobby so you are suggesting either using either (1) a single tier, fly sparge, two pump system or (2) a two tiered, batch sparge, single pump system? Single tier, batch sparge, single pump is impractical?

My First Pump - Mash Tun to BK Transfer Question

Correct - I used to sparge via gravity. Also used to heat strike/sparge water on a stove and dump into my cooler mash tun...but I'm sick of doing that. So I just added a keggle HLT to replace stovetop heating and make brew day more consolidated and efficient. Ultimately I will have a single...

My First Pump - Mash Tun to BK Transfer Question

That makes sense. My only concern with that is sacrificing efficiency due to a hurried sparge. I usually like to stir my sparge for a good 5-10 minutes to rinse out as much of the sugars as possible. Also, now that I think of it...your method seems like it would require 2 pumps unless you are...

My First Pump - Mash Tun to BK Transfer Question

Decided to finally get a brew pump and went with the new ss chugger. I think I understand the method for say, pumping H2O from HLT to MT...but I'd also like pump from my MT to BK (I batch sparge). My question is, how does one go about performing this transfer? I know you don't want to run...

Could I Convert This Into A Brewstand?

Found an angle iron aquarium stand that measures 58" x 20" x 36" ...wondering if these dimensions would work out as a base frame for a single tier design compared to what others have fabricated. I'm thinking I'll drop the height down a bit but I think its going to work out nicely...
