So me and a buddy decided we want to home brew. It will be the first time for both of us. I actually picked up a freezer, 20# co2, and dual regulator. My question to you guys ...is it better to start from scratch or buy a kit? Is there anything I would need to "watch out" for equipment wise...

I just bought a huge chest freezer in hopes of making it a keezer...but I don't have a clue as to what I need since this is my beginning into home brew. Any pointers?
