I am checking gravity daily during my fermentation. Most of my beers seem to stabilize at final gravity by day 3. It seems that the trend is to let the beer "clean up" for a few more days before packaging. Can anyone see an issue with bottling once final gravity is reached and stable for say 2...
Hello,
Here are some things I noticed from switching to liquid yeast with starters after using mostly dry yeasts for the past year.
1. Fermentation kicks off way faster and finishes really fast! I did a 1.060 NEIPA using a 1L starter of 1.036. WHOA! Airlock activity within hours and final...
Can anyone tell me if these specs are adequate to use this for a 2 roller Monster Mill crusher? Saw it in a thrift store but no idea if it is suitable.
My home is fairly old. Built 1970s and updated early 2000s (before we bought it). Early enough that the kitchen receptacles near the sink are not GFCI outlets and are wired as split receptacle outlets that cannot be wired into a GFCI unless turned into 2 gang outlets.....as I understand it. So...
Ok. I have the following components lined up.
Leviton 1288 Switch
Leviton L14-30R
Leviton 278-S00 Dryer Outlet
I have a pretty good idea how to wire this all up but just wondering if someone can help put my mind at ease and sort me out with some fancy colored lines? Again, just looking to...
If you look at the picture it says 120V-277VAC....That should be good no?
True, but then I have to reach under my stove and unplug it and plug the other thing in....it's dirty under there! Also that is way too elegant a solution for potential busy work in these times of isolation!
So I was thinking about that and came up with using this switch
Leviton 1288 30-Amp 120-Volt Toggle Double-Pole AC Quiet Switch (Brown)
Should be able to just select one outlet or the other using this I would think.
Does anyone know if daisy chaining a 2nd 30amp 240v receptacle from my oven receptacle for the purpose of brewing would be safe? We would NOT be using both at the same time and there would be a 30 amp GFCI breaker installed on the panel.
Thoughts?
Hey guys,
Using the "simple" diagram above, can anyone suggest a power switch that would switch both incoming 120v lines on/off using one switch? Sort of like the idea of an over all panel power switch so that I would be able to ensure no power is being applied until all the connections have...
Hi,
Here is my tap water profile from my town's utility provider. I used Bru'n Water to convert all the values to the correct units.
Ca 46.4 ppm
Mg 11.3 ppm
Na 0.4 ppm
SO4 40.7 ppm
Cl 2.49 ppm
HCO3 140.0 ppm
Here is my desired NEIPA...
Just a couple more thoughts on this diagram.
1. I have a 4 prong 240v oven outlet I was planning on using. Where would the neutral fit in to all of this?
2. Can 10 AWG wire fit into the controller or do I need to increase the gauge for those legs?
