Think the idea of doing this is to purge the oxygen out...also it would be very minimal waste of CO2

Yeah i think the stirring caused the bottom screen to lift. But it was not draining otherwise... do you use rice hulls with the grainfather? Will they allow it to drain easier?

It was 11lbs of 2 row and 12oz of crystal 60L... this was my first all grain cook

had issues with a slow drain through my bottom screens.. had to continuously stir my mash to help it drain then pump to recirculate. At the end of my mash the pump got clogged with grain. No grain is supposed to get through the screens. Any tips? Im still in the boil right now and havent been...
