a question about boil times and quantities for additives (coriander, orange peel)

awsome. Thanx for the info guys. Justwhat i was looking for. Now, thanx to you two i have a base to start from and i'll experiment from there. i do actually have organic oranges here at home, but as a horticulturist i can tell you that they arent much better as far as pesticides. a question about boil times and quantities for additives (coriander, orange peel)

ok. Thanx for the info. I didn't think it would boil off. Makes plenty of sense tho. so ho much freah orange zest would be equivelent to an oz of dehydrated? And i've neard that regular store bought orange can add a metalic note to the beer. Is that true?

a question about boil times and quantities for additives (coriander, orange peel)

well, i consider myself thrifty, and was wondering if i can save money by using smaller ammounts of my additives (coriander and sweet orange peel) and boiling for longer. For example, i know it's commonplace to use 1oz orangepeel for the last 15min of boil. Would i get similar results by...

    what yeast do you like?

    what yeast do you like?

ok, so now i've tried the major brands, and have seen some pros and cons from each. I wanna know what the majority likes.....just for fun, if not a bit of education. Please vote, and then post the main reason why you prefer that brand. Thanx brewtalkers.

Is it ok to use a bucket for secondary fermentation? (with poll)

cool. Thanx for the info. I think i'll stick with primary for everything but the ones i want exxxtra clear. I dunno if i'm just seeing things, but i started using irish moss for my latest beers and that alone seems to help a bit. I gather that the few extra weeks in primary will help even more...

Is it ok to use a bucket for secondary fermentation? (with poll)

awsome info and posts guys! Sounds like there is still alot of debate about this going around. With that said what i'm wondering now is what would be the benefit from racking to a secondary bucket/carboy before primary fermentation is complete vs. Just using a secondary as a clarifier? Sounds...
