    Infected bottles?

Hi, Never seen this before... seems to be in a large amount of a big batch. Bottled from a lager tank using a counter pressure bottling machine 2.5 weeks ago. It doesn't come out with the beer, stays on the side of the bottle and at the moment tastes fine. Any idea what it is? Cheers!

Great, thanks for the correction. I took the words in their literal meaning. Chemistry scared me at school so i've no real idea about all of this. I'll try to find a relatively simple book about this topic and try to learn, it's interesting and I guess the next step to improving the beer :)...

Thanks, but "Saurekapazitat" (2.5) is acidity, and "Basenkapazitat" (0.14) is alkalinity. Now i'm really confused.

Wow, the internet never fails to amaze me ;) Here's the report (brewery is just East of Hamburg, unbelievable skills 55x11 :) https://www.hamburgwasser.de/tl_files/PDF/wasseranalyse_grossensee93d3-2.pdf?download=116

Thanks for your help! That sulphate number scares me ;) Is ppm pretty much the same as mg/l? alkalinity is "0,14 mmol/l" whatever that means.. it's a German water report so I don't understands some of the volumes. Malt bill is 88% pale ale, 5% carapils, caraamber, 2% acidulated which...

Thanks a lot! Not tuned in the recipe perfectly yet as not 100% sure about the system, but will be about 290 / 300L mash - 380L sparge. Maybe I should just brew pilsners ;)

    Water help needed

Hi all, I'm doing my first commercial batch soon on a 500L system. The water at the brewery is incredibly soft: Ca: 46 mg: 4 na: 9 cl: 11 so: 7 PH: 7.7 I know it's quite lucky to have this as base water, but i'm worried as my first batch is a pale ale with Enigma and H. Blanc hops...

20 gallon SS Brewtech Infussion mash tun

I've got the 20 gallon and didn't bother with the heater as mine holds the temp pretty much perfectly for 60/75 minutes. I can echo the problem with the feet though. After a couple of moves they've all vanished. Bad flaw. Also with the grain... I had problems with lots of grain coming through...

    Australian Egnima hops

Managed to get 5kg of Enigma (live in Germany). Brewed a couple of times with them. First was a single hop pale ale and it was astounded me. Going into the fermenter it tasted very citrusy, couple of weeks in bottles the Nelson style grape and sweetness kicked in, then after a month or so it...

20 gallon SS Brewtech Infussion mash tun

Hi all, Just got this delivered here in Europe. Can echo the tilt of the tap and issue with the false bottom. It says to wash with Tri Sodium Phosphate before first use. I've looked around and i can't find it at the normal places. Any suggestions on similar cleaning agents I can use instead...
