Further, I'm going to rewrite the first thread if it will let me and put in more info. Actually, i take that back... It looks like it wont let me rewrite it. Anyone know if you can edit your original post or do I need help from an Admin? I would like to get the AG recipe in there and give credit...
Hello everyone! It's been a long time since I made this recipe. I just made another batch myself... Man things have changed in my life since I first made this. I'm married now, just bought a house with my wife... I just want to thank everyone that's supported me and helped others be successful...
Hi DroneKeeper,
Bring the water to a boil, then add the LME. Bring back to a boil, then add the hops per the boil scheduled on the recipe. I would add the sugar in the last 5 minutes of the boil. No need for specialty grains, the yeast and hops will bring the magic for you.
Sorry, the original post is locked for me. So I can't go back and edit and add more information :(... Anyways, it was originally an AG that I did, then I converted it to extract to make easier. I had some very good results, and thought I came close to Dragonmead, since I lived closed to the...
Sounds like stuck fermentation... Sometimes a re rack will get it going again, I like to add some yeast energizer and nutrient to kick it back off. What ever happen for you?
I can't seem to edit the post....
Thats a good note on the Belgian candy, I originally wrote this to be a expert type recipe and not in layman's terms/Beginner. Either way, I'm all for making edits...
The note on the Hops bellow the first post, that was an "All Grain" recipe that I had and I...
Quads are usually around 11 to 12%, so use this tool to calculate what you will get. Remember that yeast will have a very high attenuation. http://www.brewersfriend.com/extract-ogfg/
And a boil time of 60 minutes, no reason to boil any longer. Note, if your going with a quad, then i would...
I'm happy to see the response from everyone! I never thought I would get this much feedback from everyone! I set out to really clone an awesome Belgian that i really love. I got to visit Belgium last year and I went to Delirium monasterium in Brussels, I got to sample a ton of triples and i...
Yeah thats correct. It's like bragging rights, for example. "yeah, the beer had 14 total pounds of fermentables!"... I just added it because the guys at my local brew shop would always be like "yeah, that kit has 9lbs of fermentables!!!!"... so it sounded cool to say 12.4 :)
It's been over an year, but I think I added Marris Otter to mine... Not sure, I did slightly deviate on this recipe. I will have to check my notes and see what I did... But I do know this is a winner!
Before i went all-grain, i used to use Briess Liquid Malt Extract. Here it is here, Briess Liquid Malt Extracts | Beer Wine Hobby I would think your local brew show would have this.... But to further answer your question, i would use DME and the LME with creating an extract clone so i could get...
The batch size assumes what it will come out to around 6 gallons after boil. So take into account that you may have to use 7 gallons at the start to hit the 1.089 OG... This really isn't a beginner recipe. but i recommend that you use calculators like this and others for boilout calcs...
