    What will replace the headspace....

Thanks - neither are hoppy. I'll just set the pressure to my expected vols of co2 for the temp of the room and let it sit that way.

    What will replace the headspace....

So I brewed to much and I have 2 batches ready to be kegged....but I don't have any space in the keggerator. Was thinking of getting them out of the fermenter and into the keg and just pressurizing to 30-50psi and letting them sit in my basement (about 68-72f) until I have space...probably in 4...

What else do you "brew" (and keg non-alcoholic)

Interesting...this afternoon I put about a 4:1 ratio of water to grapefruit juice and am going to carb that up here soon...see what that taste like.

What else do you "brew" (and keg non-alcoholic)

I've been only brewing and kegging for about 2 years now, and recently I made some "sprite" clone. I'm curious what other non-alcoholic beverages you might also be brewing and putting into the keg?

    Sprite soda recipe

Anyone ever made 5 gallons of sprite (clone) and put it in a keg? Looking for recipes outside of the 2 cups of sugar per gallon measure.

    Spike Solo - Real Reviews

Thanks for this...good info. In regards to the power requirements - even though I still brew outside, I just so happen to be right next to where the mains come into my house that has a breaker box there, that's mostly empty. My assumption is that an electrician could throw a 30a, GFCI breaker...

    Spike Solo - Real Reviews

I'm looking for reviews of the Spike Solo 240v system from those that have it. I'm looking to getting one and am curious of real-world reviews - not the ones you can find on Youtube where seemingly everything looks great or is only minor annoyances. For reference I brew outside on a...

Old 10 Gallon Kegs - Safe??

To be clear - these kegs aren't dirty - there's no beer stone or any other gunk in them - that you can see, on the walls, bottom etc. I was more concerned with making sure they are free of whatever non-visible chemical that may have been put in them at some point - if they were ever a chemical...

Old 10 Gallon Kegs - Safe??

I'm removing the dip tubes and going with a floating dip - but I have a brush too...

Old 10 Gallon Kegs - Safe??

Kegs seem clean - I mean after the oxiclean soak (and really even when I got them) there was nothing you could "see" that was dirty - just smelled like they'd been closed up with a bit of water/liquid in them for a long time.....

Old 10 Gallon Kegs - Safe??

Five Star Chemical Beer Line Cleaner? Only one I've found that clearly says it's acidic is ALC and that's not in any of my local brew stores (trying to brew this weekend)

Old 10 Gallon Kegs - Safe??

This is what I was thinking when I found them (less than $100 each) - but then as my re-conditioning commenced and searching google for parts I was reading about how some of these things were filled with stuff that wasn't for human consumption - of course I have no way of knowing at this point -...

Old 10 Gallon Kegs - Safe??

Old 10 Gallon Kegs - Safe??

So I have come across a couple old 10 gallon ball lock kegs that I bought - one a Spartanburg Steel Firestone and the other a corny (says "Corneilus Company", MN). Now of course the previous owners both said they were used for home-brew - but I don't know these people so who knows. My plan was...
