New 70qt Coleman mash tun ?

I made two mash tuns out of blue/Coleman wheeled coolers (70 or 75 quart), built PVC manifolds and they flow great, even with the drain higher than the manifold. Your copper work likes awesome! Good luck.

Brewed a 22 gallon variation using 30 lbs. wheat and 14 1lbs. 2 row, Hallertau and 4 dry packages of Danstar Munich Yeast. I did adhere to temps, mash times and hops additions - per Ed. Grain Mill recommendations

Lot's of threads and discussion on here. After a thorough review of the posts and discussion - I bought a Monster Mill with three rollers and the large hopper. I run it with a DeWalt electric drill. I set the rollers, mounted it to a table and it has been flawless going through 600 pounds so...

    Flow Meter?

Wondering if anyone has found and used an in-line meter that could withstand boiling temps? Place it at the end of the line, and it would allow precision for mashing/sparging and then pumping wort.

Round False Bottom in a Rectangle Cooler?

OK...I bailed on the false bottoms. They just wouldn't cover most of the bottom and I was skeptical. I made two manifolds out of CPVC. Cut lots of slits in them. Drilled the coolers and put in valves I bought from Bargain Fittings. These things rock! They hold temp, I can sparge at full...

    Propane Consumption?

I have three burners on my brewcart. Two are the small diameter "turkey burner type" and one is a larger "banjo" type. Bought it from a guy who fabricated it in Denver. Churned through two tanks of propane brewing the other night. When gas got low, the flames really sputtered. Switched...

Round False Bottom in a Rectangle Cooler?

So here's the story... I had been using an Igloo 60 quart cooler with an 8 inch false bottom. That cooler was an old model and the inside/bottom was completely flush Flow was sometimes limited, and I would use my air compressor and clear it if it got stuck. I liked the volume of grain the...

Round False Bottom in a Rectangle Cooler?

Looking to build two 60 quart mashtuns, and planned on using a cube. Want to brew simultaneous 10 gallon batches. The dimensions said 15 inches, inside width, so I ordered two - 13.5 inch false bottoms thinking more surface area was better - but realized the cooler bottom isn't flush and...

    Autumn Seasonal Beer Punkin' Ale

Brewed last night. I was very nervous about gumming up my mash, so "thank you" to the poster who suggested muslin bags. I did 2-10 gallon batches - (kind of) which meant 8 cans of pumpkin. I baked them on 2 pans, then double wrapped them in cheesecloth and mashed as directed. Didn't use rice...
