DID MY LAWN CREW MESS UP MY BREWDAY?!

Here’s a new one for y’all! Had the lawn crew at the house doing some driveway addition work today and they happened to wrap up the work at the same time I was chilling my batch. I opened the garage to a storm of dust from the limestone they were cutting because they were using a blower to get...

    Cold Crashing and Dry Hops

Will my loose dry hop additions sink to the bottom of fermenter while cold crashing?

    DRY HOPPING

Question. Do you have to dry hop with the same hop varieties you use in the boil or can you add in some additional varieties during dry hopping that blend well with the hops added during boil. For example, we used Lemon Drop, African Queen and Mosaic in our Hazy recipe during boil additions. How...

    GRAIN STORAGE CONCERN (VITTLES VAULTS)

So with my current situation how long before grains go bad?

    GRAIN STORAGE CONCERN (VITTLES VAULTS)

What’s up yall. I just got 3 vittles vault containers to store some base malts because I’ve used vittle vaults for years with my animals. After filling them up yesterday with grain, I noticed the adapter ring for the lid comes easily off the containers when I pull on them. I’ve always noticed...

    USING BIOFINE AND GELATIN TOGETHER

That’s what I figured. Threw some gelatin in as well now so it’s gonna be clear 😂

    USING BIOFINE AND GELATIN TOGETHER

Yeah I mix all my fining agents well. I’ll even give em a good shake in the keg to make sure it’s mixed in well. Biofine has been in for 48 hours now. Not long at all

    USING BIOFINE AND GELATIN TOGETHER

Yeah it’s been the opposite for me, gelatin always gives me crystal clear beer but Biofine hasn’t seemed to do the trick

    USING BIOFINE AND GELATIN TOGETHER

Have any of yall ever added gelatin to a keg after realizing the biofine isn’t working well. I have always had success with gelatin but tried Biofine this time. Will there be any ill effects for adding gelatin to the same keg after Biofine has already been added?

FORGOT TO PURGE INLINE BEER FILTER

Hoppy beer. I always purge the keg several times before transfer and after transfer. Normally purge the headspace 5-8 times after transfer with 10-12psi.

FORGOT TO PURGE INLINE BEER FILTER

What’s up yall. Just a quick question, nothing major. I was doing a closed transfer today from fermenter to keg and I was using my inline beer filter during the process. Normally I purge the filter of any oxygen of course, but forgot to do so this time. Do y’all think there will be any negative...

    ADDING GELATIN AT WHAT TEMP?!!!

Hey so I just added gelatin mixture to a 5 gallon batch of beer. I added 1/2 tbsp to cold water and let it sit for an hour then topped off about 3 ounces of boiling water to let it mix. Same process I did last time with my Kölsch and it worked perfectly. This time however. I dumped it into the...

    MASH EFFICIENCY

Let’s see if y’all can help me problem solve. Just switched from my brewers edge mash and Boil to a 10 gallon Clawhammer Supply all in one 120v system. When using my brewers edge system, I would use 1.25qt of water per pound of grain used in the mash. With this method I would almost always...

    MASHING QUESTION!

Wanted to pick everyone’s brain on this one. I use a Claw Hammer 120v system. When brewing with an all in one system and using a grain basket, will I get my best results from using 1.25qt of water per pound of grain for the mash or would using full volume for the mash give me better results.
