    Is this normal 3.5 hours after pitching?

    RDWHAHB, Star San will not hurt the wort or the yeast. 3.5 hours is still well within the lag time for 04.

    How Do You Aerate?

    Never had a problem with yeast by pouring from kettle to bucket through a strainer. Keep in mind I rarely go over 1060 with my brews, but if I'm fermenting in my carboy I pour through strainer to bucket then pour through funnel into carboy. I honestly believe that it's not that hard to achieve...
