I had my first Paulaner Munich Lager last night and when looking at the website it states all the beer is UNpasteurized, UNfiltered, and naturally cloudy. Has anyone been successful harvesting their yeast?

Thanks guys. I ended up not using the free hard drive magnets and going to ACE for the round ones. Inverting one of the magnets and allowing the stir bar to orient itself was a key factor. Also using the spacer between the fan and the round magnets helped. I now have an almost free stir plate...

Sorry about the technical terminology... "pea" equals stir bar. I am using a 1 inch stir bar. The magnets are from a hard drive. I will try the spacer between fan and magnet. The stir bar is currently sitting in the magnet hopefully that will allow it to orient itself correctly.

Been out of home brewing for about 2 years. I saved some pellet hops sealed in small ziplock bags in the fridge. Just wondering if they would be worth using. I figure they have lost some of their potency. Maybe I should brew a simple blonde ale using them and see what I get.
