Thanks for the advice gents, I considered pouring the bottles back into the secondary, but would certainly risk aerating the beer. So if after a few weeks the beer fails to carbonate I think I'll throw a coopers drop in each and give it another go. Thanks
Ok, like the title says, I made a pretty stupid error while bottling Friday night. As usual, I boiled 3/4 cup dextrose in a pint of water and poured the cooled bottling solution into my empty bottling bucket. I then began to siphon my lager into the bucket containg said solution. All was...
Very true, I think I just might have to. I brewed last night after my starter wort for the liquid yeast was ready...got a good seal on the fermenter this time, and the airlock was bubbling within an hour. So far so good:D
Very good point, I wouldn't want to stir up all the sediment at the bottom of the fermenter. So how can I avoid mixing up all the sediment when pouring the beer from the fermenter into the bottling bucket?
I've thought about that idea too, but that would involve buying another fermenter, which the cheap bastard in me won't let me do quite yet. I suppose its most cost effective to buy the bottling bucket and siphon for ~$25. Would I be crazy to prepare the primer, add it to the beer in the...
I am just starting my second batch, a Kolsh kit from the LHBS. The owner strongly recommends bulk priming with DME vs the Cooper's carbonation drops. Since the Cooper's fermenter is so convenient for bottling (built-in tap) is it possible for me to bulk prime without buying a separate bottling...
Hello everyone, looks like there's a ton of good info here, which is great because the wife and I are 24 hrs into our first batch using the Coopers kit. We noticed no bubbles through the air lock by day 2, so I gave the fermenter a squeeze and gas escaped from around the lid. It was on tight...
