    Cream ale questions

Well, I'm new so im just trying new things. I'm trying to get into all grain too. Slowly but surely. Buddies dad is doing all grain and said he'll teach me. So when I convert from beer in a bag to all grain i won't be staring at the new setup with a confused look on my face.

    Cream ale questions

Cream Ale Recipe My questions: 1) What kind of brew is this? I see malt and extract. 2) What size? I assume atleast 6 gallon because of the 6.6lbs of gold malt extract. 3) In notes I'm having trouble understanding the following terms: -Steep -Completely blended -Hop Charge -Normal Finish

    tossing out the training wheels

My best friend's dad. Who I also call pops because he's pretty much like family to me has an AG setup. And said he'll teach me. :D

    tossing out the training wheels

:( Man, I wish I could afford to go AG. But, BIAB isn't so bad for someone just learning on a budget.

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I had the exact oposite issue. With brewing and drinking. Drinking helped me relax and make less mistakes.

    tossing out the training wheels

AG isn't cheap. I'm still trying to figure out brew in a bag. And even that can be a bit tedious at times. Personally, I'd say if your gonna move up. Move up to brew in a bag. It's more work, and as you learn. I'm just starting out myself, and brew in a bag is a lot easier for me, due to lack of...

    The whole process

So, I'm a bit curious... What's all the different hops, grains, yeast exactly do to the beer? I mean, I know its a science to making a good beer. That's why I'm asking. I want to learn more about how each ingredient affects how your beer turns out.

    Stout kits?

So, I bought a brewing kit and it didn't go well. I really like stouts so im hoping to find a ingredient kit for some type of snout. Any advice on what to try and where to get it?

    Keeping the fermentation cold.

O.O Man this guy needs to do more research before making a guide for the kit he sells then. His step by step said 24 hours. Then he's telling me because of the weather its no surprise that laggering is taking longer then 24 hours. So, I can have it as cold as 40?

    Keeping the fermentation cold.

Oh this is only a start. I plan on moving up fast. I'm either gonna get another 1 gallon so i can rack(or have 2 brews going at once). Or im going to start looking into bigger sized ones. So, I'm really considering a mini-fridge. Because I can get them used cheaper then $100.
