Auto Syphon with hop bag ... stressful bubbling issue

Hi.. Please can you guys let me know the best way to stop the bubbling when using an auto syphon with mesh bag tied on the end. I never have this problem when not using the mesh bag, but the beers I'm making are dry hopped so its necessary. My last IPA syphoning experience was a disaster...

    Dry Hopping..... how long?

Hi. The beer I'm currently making is the Festival pride of London Porter.. After 5 days primary fermentation you add the dry hops for another 5 days and after that it says to check the FG and bottle. It looks like my beer will take a little longer to reach the FG and I am worried about...

    Clearing the beer after bottling.

Hi, Ive just bottled my first brew and will have it at room temperature for 2 days so it can carbonate. What temperature should I then keep it at for the 2 weeks it takes to clear? I know it needs to be cool, but the only cool places i have will tend to fluctuate quite bit as there is no...

    how to rehydrate yeast

Hi, I'm from the UK and will be starting my second brew this weekend. Last time I had some problems pitching the yeast by simply following the instructions on the kit. The kit said to pitch the dry yeast straight on top of the wort, which i did evenly, The wort was at 70f Firstly, I didn't...

    Checking gravity during Primary Fermentation

do you mean buying a auto syphon with a pump, or is it the technique where you fill the syphon tube with water first, tap one end and insert the other in to the beer? , I've tried googling, but not sure what I'm looking for... Many thanks for you time, it is much appreciated!

    Checking gravity during Primary Fermentation

Only other question was that you said that racking to a secondary was a big No No.. just want to check that its ok practice to syphon over to a bottling container for priming and bottling. it will only be in that container for the time it takes to bottle and prime..

    Checking gravity during Primary Fermentation

Thank you again for taking the time to reply. If the beer doesn't reach its normal FG of 1.012, has the beer failed or will it still be ok to bottle and drink. regards Darren
