Wow! So much great info! I'll process it all and let you know what I decide to run with. We did get a 50lb sack of domestic 2 row as I figured so many recipes require it for a base.

Looking for an all grain recipe suggestion for a warm weather session beer that is "cheap" and can be brewed in 10gal batches. No temp control, so we are in the high 60 to low 70 range.
We have really liked the Drake's Landing from Rebel Brewer which is an approximate clone to New Albion...
Sorry so long for the update! I had to back off brewing for a while.
I have been getting swapped co2 tanks at Volunteer Welding. They also offer beergas (nitro/co2) for those who have the setup.
Prices are the lowest I've found around here.

I have had some very good experiences with Volunteer Welding Supply. http://www.volunteerwelding.com. I think it cost me around 10 bucks for 5lbs.
The added benefit is that it is a stones throw from Yazoo - so get a growler when you are in the neighborhood.
It is totally thawed now --- I will rack it into the keg and see how it goes I guess. The carboy appears to be unphased. It was a glass 5gal secondary that I got from a former wine maker.
Wonder if I should shake it up and let it settle out or just rack as is?
Kegerator thermostat got toyed w/ by the toddler. Froze a scottish in the carboy. I have pulled it out and and defrosting before sending it to the keg. What are the taste/quality repercussions of this, if any?
I brewed the Nor'wester Brewing Co's partial mash recipe from the book North American Clone Brews. I used the WLP300 yeast. I have another beer in secondary that used the Wyeast Belgian Abbey II which I have some of the washed yeast from. What are your thoughts on brewing w/ the Belgian yeast...
I have some belgian abbey II yeast from wyeast that i just got in the mail from Norther Brewer. It is going to be used in their Lefse Blond extract kit. I know that this yeast strain that I am going to brew with throughout the whole summer using various recipe tweaks and iterations. So the...
First time trying to wash yeast. I made one batch using this yeast and then repitched in the yeast cake. Poured the slurry into 3 jars and chilled to let them separate into the 3 layers. However I seem to just have a dark layer and beer. Is this yeast tough to separate and reuse in this manner?
Just sampled my first home brew- a nut brown that happens to be a bit hoppier than expected - but still super in my mind. OG was 1062 and now it is at 1012 after 9.5 days. The foam has fallen so I am guessing it is ready to keg? what are your thoughts on force carbing for the first time or...
So I have been a lurker for quite some time - but have never even brewed a batch before. The wife finally got tired of me talking about it and bought me most of what I needed plus a ton of gift certificates to the LHBS in Nashville. She even got me cornies and a kegerator (...
So what I have decided to do is to take the milled grain out of the brown paper bag and transfer it to a ziploc. I then placed the ziploc back into the brown paper bag to keep it out of the light and then put the package into the fridge. Guess it can't hurt?
