    Lactose effect

Nice... How much milk sugar did you use and when did you use them? At priming?

    Lactose effect

Which beer kit was this? I am trying to find a Guiness Clone... I have never heard of using Rye in beer. Cool... I will make some research about this.

    Lactose effect

Hi Does anyone knows the effect of adding lactose (milk sugar) to a beer recipe as this ingredient isn't fermentable by the yeast? Does this helps the retention and foam formation? I am thinking of using this ingredient to improve the foam (Guiness-like) in a Irish Stout beer kit.

    Dark DME

I don't boil the beer kit. I have used Dark DME as suggested by the local brew store... it left a strong flavor in the beer. The last 3 beer kits that I made I used Light DME and it shows better results. My question is about where can/should I use Dark DME to improve the beer kit.

    Dark DME

Hi. Yes, bitter is not the best word to describe it. "astringency" seems more adequate :) I make beer from beer kits as I started only a few months ago and it seemed the easiest way to learn. I used 1,5kg Dark DME on a Coopers Irish Stout and on a Brewferm Abdji beer kit and it turn bad...

    Dark DME

Hi. Every beer kit that I have used Dark DME has turned bitter. Does this happen to other brewers? Will the bitterness fade away with time? I had better results using light DME. I still have 2 kg's of Dark DME and I don't know which Beer Kit would turn good with this dark DME.

Has anyone tried Jasper's Homebrew Barleywine?

I also tasted a Barleywine in Portugal and I thought "this is the best beer ever". So I tried to find Barley Wine Beer Kits. I have one Beer Kit Muntons Barleywine that fermented for 4 weeks and was bottled 2 Weeks ago. And I have one batch of Woodfordes BarleyWine fermenting. It will stand...

Party Star Deluxe CO2 dispenser for 5 l barrels

You are right: Amazon Product Page:"You use 16 gm. CO2 cartridges to dispense the beer, but they cannot be used to carbonate the beer." Thanks

Party Star Deluxe CO2 dispenser for 5 l barrels

Hi. Has someone used this product? I would like to have a system with forced carbonation. This product uses CO2 cartridges 16 g but it doesn't tell how much beer I can carbonate with this cartridge.

Yeast starter to re-pitch another brew

Yeah... I hope that it gets to be a good beer, although it won't be a great barley wine. Thanks for your help

Yeast starter to re-pitch another brew

Yes, I measured just after pitching. I bought this beer kit (OG: 1.060-1.064): http://www.the-home-brew-shop.co.uk/acatalog/Muntons_Barley_Wine_24_pint.html#.VhZF2vlViko I would like to do a real barley wine recipe but I still didn't do all-grain brew. If we use Light Malt Extract...

Yeast starter to re-pitch another brew

If I measure after pitching the Yeast, the value of OG will be significantly lower?
