KuntzBrewing, I only did a partial mash, as it was a Brewer's Best kit:
I steeped the grains in 2.5 gal of clean water between 150-165 F for 20 min.
Brought to boil and added LME, DME and Maltodextrin.
Added bittering hops; boiled 40 min.
Added aroma hops and chipotle powder; boiled for 20...

This happened to me three weeks ago to my Imperial Stout. My lid came right off too, which is amazing considering I have trouble removing it by hand it's on so tight.
I am brewing the Brewer's Best Russian Imperial Stout 5 gallon kit and it has been stuck at the same SG for two weeks now.
I should mention that primary fermentation was explosive – literally, with CO2 and foam forming so vigorously that my fermentation bucket lid blew right off about 12...
I am doing this as my first 5 gallon batch.
It took to fermentation within hours and blew its top (literally) within 12 hours. I had an incredible amount of foam and CO2 production. I have some great video and photos that I can post here later for everyone's enjoyment.

I think what I'll do is create a Frankincense tea (though not with the scientific eloquence of Heston) and a Myrrh tea.
I'll just have to be extremely careful with the Myrrh and use very little...
I have an idea for a Christmas mead, but can't find any existing resources on it.
I want to make a 1 gallon metheglin/melomel (methomel?) using frankincense and myrrh. This is my first mead attempt, but I am extremely adventurous.
